Calling all scientists!

The Coal House Cafe is in the process of becoming a "science cafe". !!!

Ithaca has an excellent pool of teachers and researchers who may enjoy showcasing their work to the local community. We are looking for undergraduates, graduates, post docs, professors and anyone trained in the natural and social sciences who would like to present their ideas and work to the Ithaca community in a casual setting.

If you are one of these persons, you may be thinking "only people in my field or specialization will understand me". This may be true to some degree, however, it is important that you know how to communicate your ideas and work to the public. If you don't believe me then visit this link http://www.flockofdodos.com/. It is also important for non-scientifically trained individuals to have opportunities to sharpen their intelligence.

The objective is to coordinate weekly evening events starting as soon as possible.

If you are interested in presenting your research contact me and let me know know who you are , what you do , and what you would like to present (this can include sending me a slide show or any other material related to your presentation). Also, if you are a local resident interested in attending and helping coordinate events please email me. I am a graduate student at Binghamton University specializing in evolutionary theory. I live in Ithaca.
